The purpose of the Program Specialist- Public Health is to perform administrative and clerical support to the Health Department.
- Essential Duties
Provide administrative support with grant procurement and management.
Maintain coalition member databases.
Create and distribute monthly e-newsletters.
Register departmental staff for trainings and collecting appropriate documentation.
Review, receive and prepare department facilitated training and associated participant attendance logs.
Create agendas and record minutes for department and coalition meetings.
Schedule vehicle maintenance.
Assist in developing and updating department policies and procedures.
Provide off-site assistance for trainings and programs, such as:?
- Foot clinics
- Dental programs
- Other programs as necessary
- Additional Tasks
Purge department files according to established policies as well as State and Federal requirements.
Conduct general department filing and scanning.
Track certification and licenses of departmental staff.
Perform receptionist or front desk duties as needed.
And other duties as assigned.
- Minimum Training and Education
Required: Associate's degree in Administrative Assistant or another related field
Preferred: Experience in a Public Health Department
Any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered
