The Director of State Courts’ Office of Consolidated Court Automation Programs (CCAP) has an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced data management professional to make a valuable contribution to the Wisconsin criminal justice system through a full-time, unclassified data warehousing position.
LOCATION: Madison, WI.
SALARY: $85,000 - $94,000 annually, plus excellent state benefits.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the general supervision of the Director of Research and Judicial Statistics and working closely with criminal justice researchers, this position will include the following tasks: (1) Create and maintain a robust data warehouse and define, document, and implement quality assurance processes; (2) Identify and design methods for collecting and processing appropriate data for research projects linked to criminal, civil, family and juvenile law; (3) Retrieve, combine, clean, and manage data from multiple sources using appropriate programming languages, database utilities, and business intelligence tools; (4) Analyze data to gain insights and to answer questions posed by justice system leaders; (5) respond to inquiries and requests for information from Judiciary and court personnel, legislators, state and local government agencies, and other public and private organizations.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Qualified candidates will possess: (1) Bachelor’s degree or equivalent advanced training in Computer Science, Information Science or related field; (2) Extensive experience using SQL to perform complex queries on large relational database systems; 4) Experience managing and cleaning large datasets, identifying, determining root causes of data error and suggesting solutions; (5) Experience with data warehousing, data modeling and ETL processes. Preferred: In addition, well-qualified candidates will have: (6) Graduate degree or advanced certifications in computer science or information science; (7) Experience with commonly used business intelligence tools such as SAS, Stata, SPSS, Tableau, or Power BI. (8) Experience using scripting languages such as R or Python. (9) Demonstrated interest or experience in public service or criminal justice initiatives.
