The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS); Division of Care and Treatment Services (DCTS); Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center (SRSTC) is recruiting to fill a Recreational Leader Senior position in Mauston, WI.
Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center opened in 2001 and houses Wisconsin's Sexually Violent Persons Program. The goal of the center is treating and teaching patients with a history of sexual aggression toward the goal of providing a safe return to the community.

Work hours are 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, working every other Saturday.

This position develops and implements a comprehensive leisure/recreational program designed to support the program goals established by the institution. This position conducts recreation and leisure interest groups with patients in conjunction with other Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center staff.
Due to the nature of these positions, all applicants will be required to allow the DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled.
All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by SRSTC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.
Minimally qualified candidates will have:
- Experience developing and implementing and/or teaching recreational/leisure opportunities
- Experience working in a treatment facility, correctional facility, or a community based program
Well qualified candidates will have:
- Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience coordinating community services projects
- Experience ordering supplies for a recreation program
- Experience preparing recreation/leisure activity schedules, program plans, checklists, and session organization
