The City of La Crosse is currently accepting applications for the full time position of ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT for the Legal Department. This position will provide office administrative support and receptionist duties, including accounts payable and receivables, various research projects, coordinating support services for the department, and general correspondence. The work is performed under the direction of the City Attorney.
REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent, vocational/technical training in secretarial science or office management, three years of administrative secretary experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office. Strong public relations skills and telephone skills required. Minimum typing speed/accuracy of 40 wpm required. Starting wage for this non-exempt confidential position is $20.36 - $23.31 per hour depending on qualifications with a maximum hourly wage of $26.70 per hour.
