General Description: The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall operational performance of their respective La Crosse Seed Location by following the policy and procedures that are in support of the company's mission, vision and values. They are to manage day to day operations while ensuring the warehouse is running effectively by meeting the expectations and needs of customers and clients. Reports to: Director of Operations Job Summary The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing a wide variety of warehouse operational systems. This includes, but not limited to, customer service, logistics, product forecasting, delegating and supervising warehouse staff, cost management, shipping, receiving, and production activities. People management responsibilities include hiring and training, maintaining a proper workforce level, providing leadership which includes delegating and supervising workloads. This involves conducting performance appraisals, problem solving, and addressing staff challenges. Maintenance, repair, and upkeep of all equipment, buildings, and vehicles. Identify and provide the proper tools and environment for employees to perform their duties effectively and safely. Performance will be measured on ability to fulfill customer orders, expense management, inventory control, and completeness of data processing. Overall operational performance should be consistent with company's policies and guidelines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure Division is Exceeding Customer Expectations o Applicable activities to manage include: Order fulfillment Timely communicationnformation requests Walk-in customer service Ensure accuracy and the quality of product shipped Coordinate Divisional Logistical Needs o Schedule and ensure customer shipment; managed activities include: Utilize Third-Party Logistics Vendors as needed Manage the drivers and their workload and ensure full coverage where necessary Manage Inventory and Warehouse Activities o With assistance from warehouse management, managed activities could include: Maintain high levels of accuracy in inventory integrity and daily operations Implement, and monitor company safety procedures with the ability to suggest quality improvements Responsible for the timeliness, accuracy and reporting of all warehouse related activities Maintain high levels of accuracy in inventory levels and daily operations by managing weekly production schedules Overall Divisional Performance o Accomplish division results by communicating employee job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, mentoring and disciplining employees o Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices through record-keeping systems o Measure and report the effectiveness of the location activities as requested o Review contracts, invoices, work orders, consumption reports, and demand forecasts to estimate peak delivery periods and to issue work assignments o Monitors and controls divisional expenses o Provide safe and clean work environment for employees o Create a team-centric work environment by goal setting, frequent communication and feedback using rewards to reinforce positive contributions o Ability to efficiently lead, delegate and motivate employees o Develop key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the operation and to increase operation improvements Qualifications: High school degree 3 years of relevant agricultural or turf experience 1 year of previous supervisoryanagement experience Excellent communication skills both verbal and written Knowledge of the functionality of warehouse machine and equipment Excellent computer skills and proficient in excel, word, outlook, and access Preferred: Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP System BSA in a relevant field Work experience in a seed related industry Skills: Delegate responsibilities effectively Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace Effective leadership and management skills Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style Excels at operating in a fast pace environment Please respond to: La Crosse Seed, attn.
