La Crosse County Human Services, Child Protective Services division has a supervisory opportunity in the Permanency Resource Unit. The primary responsibility of this position is direct supervision of social workers and paraprofessionals who are responsible to recruit, license, train and support La Crosse County foster parents and relative care providers while monitoring child safety in out-of-home care. In addition, serves as a resource to staff within the Family and Children's Services section for after-hours on-call supervisory approval for placement and temporary physical custody requests and case consultation.

Requirements: •Master's Degree from accredited college or university in Social Work or counseling-related field. •Two years social work experience with services to abused/neglected children and families, with emphasis on assessing and licensing out-of-home care providers and ensuring safety of children in placement. •Or, five years social work experience in assessing and licensing out-of-home care providers and ensuring safety of children in placement may be substituted for advanced degree. • May consider other equivalent combination of training and experience. • Preference is given to persons with an advanced degree and progressive case practice and experience. •Valid driver's license and access to personal transportation, or other reliable means of transportation, for countywide travel. •Passing criminal record check under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law.
