REFUSE/RECYCLING MATERIAL COLLECTOR

Operate an 18 cubic yard rear-loading packer truck, step van truck, and/or other equipment necessary to remove waste and recycling materials from various building locations and transport it to the appropriate landfill or recycling facility. Responsible for performing daily inspections of vehicle and packer, perform minor maintenance such as monitoring fluid levels, checking for leaks, vehicle lighting, belts, air brake system function, tire pressure, and greasing, other functions as necessary for safe and efficient operations. Responsible for washing and cleaning interior and exterior of vehicle and packer as required. Report all minor or major malfunctions or repairs required to your supervisor and/or mechanics. Follow a preset route or modified route as required to perform scheduled daily route function. This includes pickup of loose material in and around dumpster/dock areas. Operate a two-way radio to communicate with other drivers and receive instructions from supervisor or dispatcher. Will be required to collect route survey information for data collection. Snow removal as required. Requires CDL Class B with air brake endorsement and authorization to drive University vehicle.
