Utility Account Specialist
EFFECTIVE DATE: Immediately upon selection
EXPECTED STARTING HOURLY RANGE: $17.71 - $21.25 Grade: 6
JOB DUTIES: This position provides customer service such as collecting and receipting money as well as utility account functions such as generating billings and periodic review of billing accuracy.
General responsibilities: Create water and sewer account billings for residential and industrial customers, review financial and account records for past due accounts, and perform general administrative support for the Utility Department. The candidate must provide excellent service to customers over the phone and in person, balance daily cash receipts for utility payments, and enter work orders for water and sewer accounts.
The Utility Account Specialist will work independently and cooperatively in a team environment and is responsible for learning a variety of processes and policies that provide for the efficient conduct of business.
QUALIFICATIONS: A High School diploma or G.E.D. and two (2) years’ experience and knowledge working in a point of sale or customer service capacity. The successful applicant will have some previous experience in the following:
· Accurate billing accounts · Follow actions in order and arrange information
· Bookkeeping · Post financial transactions
· Windows Suite competency · 10-key accuracy
· Cashier duties · Familiarity with math or accounting
