Executive Director Job Announcement: The White Buffalo Calf Women's Society, Inc. (WBCWS), Board of Directors is seeking a proven leader with excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a personal commitment to end violence against Native women and men. Candidates should possess the following essential qualifications: oMinimum of a Bachelor's Degree, or 5 plus years of experience in Executive position oExperience in organizational leadership and demonstrated ability to work independently oExcellent writing skills oExperience working with Native American communities oKnowledge of or experience with local, state, and federal laws and regulations as they apply to the mission of the organization and funding agencies oSuccessful grant writing experience oBudget management skills oDemonstrate the ability to build working partnerships and relationships oDemonstrated understanding of the dynamics of violence against women and advocacy The following qualifications would be preferred: oExperience working in a non-profit organization oExperience working with victims of crime such as domestic violence and sexual assault, or be willing to be certified in the response to these crimes. oExperience working with state, city, federal and county governments and law enforcement agencies oKnowledge of Native American "Lakota" culture, believes, and ceremonies oStrong public speaking skills oExperience organizing conferences, seminars, community education events and trainings Job Description*: The Executive Director (ED) will lead WBCWS in its fulfillment of the WBCWS Mission, current advocacy and educational efforts as well as develop and implement future initiatives. The ED, with the support of the Board of Directors, is responsible for fundraising, which includes grants and donations, and for the fiscal management of the organization. The ED is responsible for personnel management. The ED is responsible for WBCWS policy development, collaborations, partnerships, strategic planning and communications. The ED is WBCWS representative, including media and official functions, and responsible for developing and enhancing relationships with tribal leadership. The ED reports to the Board of Directors. This is not a 9 to 5 job, it has many rewards in assiting those who have been victims of violent crime and the ED is expected to be an advocate.
