Electronic Communication Specialist
Builds, executes and continuously improves e-communications for the university using designated marketing communication platforms; ensures all finished e-communications meet legal, design and branding standards; communicates with designated campus constituents about contact lists, segments and e-communications software updates; assists with creative conceptualization so e-newsletter connect with audiences; manages workflow for numerous e-communications each week, ensuring all are prepared, edited and approved through proper channels before transmitting; and works with other departments on campus, including but not limited to Admissions, Alumni Association, UNI Foundation, President's Office, Provost's Office, to create e-communications that include campus updates to current students, faculty and staff, recruitment communications to prospective students, campus highlights to UNI alumni, as well as various external e-communications as assigned. This position is eligible for overtime.
Bachelor's degree; at least one year of web design, including strong background in XHTML; proficiency in web coding; and background in Adobe Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Photoshop required. Proficiency in determining accessibility of electronic communication in accordance with U.S. laws, specifically (but not limited to) with Sections 504 and 508 of Rehabilitation Act of 1973; and familiarity with the CAN-SPAM law and best practices in mass emailing preferred. Student experience will be considered. Criminal and other relevant background checks required.
