The City of Cedar Falls is seeking qualified candidates to test for and fill the position of City Arborist. Hourly pay range: $21.49 34.92 with full-time benefit package Candidates must possess the ability to: plan, coordinate and participate in all services and operations for the City s tree maintenance program including planting, removing, trimming, operating aerial units, tree spades, chippers, chain saws, etc.; responding to emergencies, snow removal, coordinating assigned activities with other divisions, outside agencies and the general public. Individual must also have the ability to provide highly responsible staff assistance to Public Works & Park Division management.
Candidates must have the equivalent to the completion of the 12 th grade, supplemented by training in tree care and maintenance services and activities; at least 2 years experience in the field of Arboricultural operations and activities; a valid Class B commercial driver s license (or ability to obtain) and good driving record. Post-offer, pre-employment physical and drug screen required.
P osition requires Civil Service testing for candidates meeting the above minimum qualifications. Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications will be required to c omplete a questionnaire after a pool of qualified applicants is approved by the Civil Service Commission. Interviews will follow with selected candidates from the Civil Service certified list. Post-offer, pre-employment physical and drug screen also required.
