Description of Position: The Department of Curriculum and Instruction is seeking an instructor for an off-campus program at the Rend Lake College Marketplace in Mt. Vernon, IL. This is a non-tenure track, term position in the area of Early Childhood Special Education with particular emphasis on the Birth to Five age range.

Responsibilities of the Position:

  1. Teach undergraduate courses in our Child and Family Services program leading to a Bachelor’s degree.
  2. Attend monthly faculty meetings at the Rend Lake Marketplace when they are scheduled by the RLCM coordinator.

Requirements of Candidates:

  1. The rank of Instructor requires a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education or other closely related field. The rank of Lecturer requires a doctoral degree with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education, Special Education or other closely related field. Preference will be given to applicants with a doctorate degree.
  2. Successful experience within the age range Birth to Age Five Children is required.
  3. Preference will also be given to applicants who have experience in one or more of the following:
    1. Children with disabilities and/or developmental delays.
    2. Educational leader in an Early Childhood Special Education setting.
    3. Developmental Specialist – IL term is Developmental Therapist.
