Position Title: Database Administrator

Starting Salary: $41,368 - $51,710 (salary commensurate with education and experience per salary schedule)

Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing and maintaining the databases used in our administrative and student information systems, which includes performing upgrades, monitoring performance, creating reports and entry forms, as well as working directly with vendors on support tickets and maintenance contracts; must be able to work in various operating and database management systems; design, build, and maintain relational databases; debug data issues and work with end users to ensure data integrity; install and maintain updates on database management software; monitor database performance and make improvements accordingly; design and implement data access permissions for end users; maintain security privileges for new and existing users; perform, maintain, and test backup procedures for various database management systems; develop and maintain integrations with other systems; work with business analyst on building and maintaining reports; document changes to database systems and integrations; serve on committees related to data governance; other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field; three years of relational database administration experience on Windows (MSSQL) and UNIX/Linux (Informix) operating systems; working knowledge of languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Perl, and SQL.
Certifications in database administration; five or more years of relational database administration experience on Windows (MSSQL) and UNIX/Linux (Informix) operating systems.
