Position: This is a one hundred percent (100%) time term position beginning as soon as possible. Continued appointment is dependent on periodic performance reviews, and extension of appointment is subject to availability of grant funds.

Qualifications: Researcher I applicants are required to have a Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences with a preference for previous laboratory experience demonstrating skills in the areas of animal handling, tissue culture and use of molecular techniques.

Salary: Researcher I minimum starting salary is $2,145.83 a month.


  • General laboratory maintenance
  • Maintaining compliance records
  • Maintaining tissue culture laboratory, which includes use of sterile techniques, preparation of media, serum and solutions for cultures of cells, care of cell lines and primary cells, and cell experiments
  • Performing molecular biology techniques such as transfection, gene cloning and targeting, RT-PCR, western and southern blots, immunohistochemistry, and in situ hybridization
  • Handling animals (mice) and performing animal experiments
  • Other duties as assigned
