Salary of Position: $14.84/hour

Qualifications: Requires an associate degree; two years' work experience in business, financial counseling, and/or customer service areas of work; assessments or acceptable certification for the appropriate level of Microsoft Office skills; excellent communication skills and professional standards; ability to work in a team atmosphere. Preferred qualifications include: bachelor's degree; analytical skills; detail-oriented; multi-tasking abilities; excellent writing skills.
Duties: Provide excellent customer service and excellent communication skills in a professional manner when relating to students, families, office team members, and other staff; daily processing of financial aid applications; responding to phone calls, walk-in traffic, and email communication from prospective and current students with regard to financial aid questions; daily and weekly transcript evaluation; Department of Education transmissions; processing of institutional waivers; maintaining office forms and supplies; processing, verifying, and accurately inputting financial aid awards for prospective and continuing students; adhering to all federal and state regulations with regard to awarding federal and state student financial aid; accurately calculating student financial aid awards and submitting amounts to federal and state agencies; accessing several computer programs daily to obtain and evaluate student status in order to process financial aid awards and verify eligibility for each student; assist other staff members in evaluating end of semester progress to ensure student's continued eligibility; send notifications to students with regard to eligibility, loan exit counseling, and other communication required by federal and state agencies; must have the ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate political and social sensitivity skills; must be available to work overtime when required in order to adequately meet the needs of students and meet deadlines; other duties as assigned.
Duties must be performed on John A. Logan campus or designated locations.
