The Network Administrator's role is to ensure the stable operation of the in-house computer network. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links. The person will also analyze and resolve end user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required.
Education: Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science and/or 4 years equivalent work experience.
One of the following certificates as directed by the Information Systems Supervisor and Director of Information Systems:
MCITP 70-640 Active Directory, Configuring
CCNA, Cisco Certified Networking Associate
VCP-DCV, VMWare Certified Professional- Datacenter Virtualization
Job Knowledge: Working technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems. Extensive application support experience. Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards. Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience. Good understanding of the organization's goals and objectives. Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
