Qualifications: Requires a high school diploma or GED; one year of word processing experience; good organizational skills; ability to
work with a diverse population. Military background; experience with VA policies; 40 wpm typing proficiency is preferred
Duties: Provide detailed information requiring some interpretation of guidelines regarding department’s programs and policies;
respond to inquiries by phone or in person; research and resolve problems and complaints; attend training; research and stay up-to
date on state and federal regulations concerning the eligibility requirements, application process, and the use of military education
benefits; establish schedules and monitor student employees in the VA Work Study Program; serve as informational resource to staff
and students in relation to John A. Logan College campus policies, billing, and military education benefits; may review and respond to
incoming correspondence; may type and proof correspondence, check for billing issues, and ensure student is enrolled in classes
covered by military education benefits; may review, correct, and report any errors found in VA student files to the School Certifying
Official; may assist in preparing VA files for state and federal audits; may use VA-Once and other VA dashboards for minor data entry
in reporting enrollment; may monitor activity of office to ensure all appeals, forms, and timesheets are completed or turned in by the
deadline; may perform various administrative tasks including answering and directing phone calls, maintaining calendar, scheduling
appointments, and arranging meetings; other duties as assigned.
Duties must be performed on John A. Logan campus or designated locations.
