Southern Illinois University School of Law is an outstanding, small public law school that provides its students with an optimal mix of theoretical and experiential educational opportunities in a student-centered environment in order to prepare them for a changing legal profession in a global environment. SIU School of Law seeks to fill one full-time clinical faculty position. The successful candidate will coordinate the Veteran's Legal Assistance Program clinic and teach students who enroll in the course. This is a non-tenure track 12 month appointment. Renewable, contingent on available funding.
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must possess a Juris Doctor degree and experience teaching in a law school.
Preferred Qualifications: Licensed to practice law in Illinois, Veteran's Affairs attorney accreditation, 2 or more years of experience handling Veteran's Affairs disability claims at the RO, BV A and CA VC levels.
Duties and Responsibilities: Classroom and clinical instruction as well as other duties as assigned by the Dean.
