POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT Researcher I (Conservation Genetics Technician) (Part Time) Center for Fisheries, Aquaculture and Aquatic Science Southern Illinois University Carbondale Position: Researcher I (Conservation Genetics Technician) is a part-time (30 hours/week) position in the Conservation Genomics Laboratory/Center for Fisheries, Aquaculture and Aquatic Sciences (CFAAS) at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. This position is contingent on available funding. Duties and Responsibilities: Isolate DNA from animal tissues. Perform genotyping using DNA microsatellite and single nucleotide polymorphism markers. General lab maintenance. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Biology, Zoology, Natural Resources, or a related discipline. Experience with producing and analyzing molecular genetic data (e.g. microsatellites and single nucleotide polymorphisms) preferred. Effective Date of Appointment: Position begins as soon as possible and is expected to continue for one year with additional years contingent on funding.
