Full Time
Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling substance use and mental health         counseling services
  • Provide on-call duties for walk-in emergency services
  • Develop comprehensive substance use prevention and outreach programs for the campus community
  • Serve as primary contact for Partners in Prevention grant and complete all grant reporting requirements
  • Serve as chair and coordinate all activities of the University Alcohol and Substance Use committee
  • Assist in the supervision of the Substance Abuse Prevention Graduate Assistant
  • Provide clinical supervision and training for interns and practicum students
  • Develop and present educational outreach programs on substance use prevention and mental health topics for students, faculty, and staff on psycho-educational topics
  • Provide consultation services for Southeast campus community
  • Participate and serve as a "Crisis Coordinator On Call" for the University's Crisis Response Team
  • Participate in University retention efforts with Orientation programs, Opening Week, etc.
  • Attend weekly clinical staff meetings and scheduled work retreats
Required Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Missouri or eligible to obtain Missouri licensure
  • Demonstrated experience in providing substance use counseling services with a preference for substance use treatment credentials/continuing education
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated clinical experience with two or more college mental health issues including eating disorders, developmental adjustment issues, acquaintance rape, substance use/abuse, depression, relationship conflicts, or sexual orientation
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrates ability to motivate others and elicit creative problems solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential records, adherence to ethical standards, and produce written reports in a timely fashion
  • Ability to work nights and weekends, as needed
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service
  • Demonstrated commitment to a diverse work environment, including working with multicultural populations and an understanding of, and sensitivity to, issues affecting women and minorities
